GET /repos/{owner}/{repo} — GitHub API
GitHub token (optional for public resources); https://api.github.com
GitHub APIGet a repository
GET /repos/{owner}/{repo} to retrieve one repository. Public repositories can be requested without authentication. To read private repositories, authenticate with a token that can access that repository; fine-grained tokens need Metadata repository permission (read). In the response, full_name is the owner/repository name, default_branch is the default branch name, and html_url is the repository page on GitHub. See the GitHub Get a repository docs.

Critical gotchas
GitHub recommends an Accept: application/vnd.github+json header and an explicit X-GitHub-Api-Version header.
Fine-grained tokens only authorize repositories and permissions selected when the token is created.
